Join Flutist Scott Metlicka and Cellist Sara Sitzer on a musical journey around the world! Enjoy an evening of chamber music featuring music of Telemann, Beethoven, Villa-Lobos, Bizet and more!
Flutist Scott Metlicka is a member of the Elgin, Rockford, and South Bend Symphonies, as well as the Wisconsin Philharmonic and Milwaukee’s Skylight Music Theater. He is also a regular sub with the Grant Park Symphony, Chicago Opera Theater, Chicago Philharmonic, Madison Symphony, and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra. His performance degrees are from Northern Illinois University (BM) and Northwestern University (MM). He recently performed the Liebermann Piccolo Concerto with the South Bend Symphony and the Ibert Flute Concerto with the Wisconsin Philharmonic and Rockford Symphony. He is the Flute Instructor at Northern Illinois University and Elgin Community College.
Cellist Sara Sitzer is an active and versatile freelance cellist and entrepreneur in Chicago. A member the Elgin Symphony, Sara also performs regularly with orchestras and ensembles including the Milwaukee Symphony and Chicago Opera Theater among others. Ms. Sitzer is founding Artistic Director of the Gesher Music Festival in St. Louis, MO, and founding Co-Artistic Director of Chamber Music on the Fox in Elgin, IL. She spends her summers performing and teaching at the Wintergreen Summer Music Festival in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Sara holds performance degrees from the University of Wisconsin and Boston University, and completed a 3-year fellowship with the New World Symphony in Miami under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.
