This Illinois Bicentennial lecture explores the American Indian history of the Chicago area including that of Wilmette.
There is a particular emphasis on how treaties and trade shaped the landscape and memory of the contemporary metropolis, including the Caldwell Reserve, the Indian Boundary, and the 1,280 acre reserve to Antoine Ouilmette that led to the modern community of Wilmette. Presented by Theodore Karamanski, Professor of History, Loyola University.
