This course teaches students essential, communicative French to enhance the experience and enjoyment of traveling to a French-speaking country. Many language courses focus on grammar and spelling, leaving students as passive observers who are hesitant to interact with native speakers. In this course, beginning students learn to speak in authentic cultural contexts and to develop the skills needed to interact willingly and fearlessly with the French people they encounter on their travels. Students will learn to navigate and communicate in common settings such as cafés, hotels, tourist attractions, transportation systems, and the like. The class is highly interactive and engages students immediately in using the language. No prior French experience is needed.

Madame Palmer taught middle and high school French for over 20 years. Her passion for the language began when she was an exchange student to France in her early teens. The joy of experiencing another language and culture led her to Middlebury College in Vermont where she majored in French and lived in Paris for a year. She brings energy and enthusiasm with her to every class she teaches, giving students the skills and confidence to communicate willingly and fearlessly in French. http://www.fastfrenchwithmadamepalmer.com/

Registrants are asked to register for and be able to attend the entire 4-week series. Class will meet 6/13, 6/20, 6/27 & 7/11.
