For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, join us for a day of service. There will be drop-in stations to pack activity kits and make cards and friendship bracelets for patients at Lurie Children's Hospital.
Due to the sensitive nature of the children receiving these items, you must wear a mask and gloves during this program. The library will have masks and gloves for those who don't have their own. If you feel unwell, please stay home.
The library will provide supplies for making several types of friendship bracelets, including with and without beads; and greeting cards to cheer up hospitalized children.
Participants can also put together activity kits, made up of coloring books, Crayola crayons or colored pencils, card games, and activity books. Some examples include Uno, Phase 10, Mad Libs, sudoku or crosswords, etc. The library will have some supplies ready to package but donations of new, unused items are appreciated. If you would like to donate items, please bring them during the program hours.
