In a one-page role-playing game, the rules are so simple they can fit on one page! They are short adventures that offer unlimited improvisation and a wild and frequently funny storytelling experience. Be Gay, Do Crimes is written by Evan Saft and based on Grant Howitt's microRPG, Honey Heist.
The slogan, "Be Gay, Do Crimes" is a nod to the political radicals who compromised much of LGBTQ+ history, such as the 1969 Stonewall Riots that are widely considered to have begun the movement for equal rights. As late as 2003, before the landmark Supreme Court case, Lawrence v. Texas, relationships between consenting same-sex adults were still cause for arrest in some states, hence, a criminal act. Over time, “be gay do crimes” has become a popular meme used during Pride Month in a wide variety of contexts. In this context, it is a title of a role-playing game in which players take on roles as a crew of misfits manning a Pride Parade float that runs amok.
