Join us for a virtual visit with award-winning author Angela Cervantes and learn about her journey to becoming a published author of some of our favorite chapter books!
Me, Frida, and the Secret of the Peacock Ring, by Angela Cervantes was a Wilmette 5th grade Reading Challenge selection! We will gather in person, while Angela joins us virtually. Bring your questions about writing, publishing, and storytelling. We will raffle off five free copies, which were provided by Angela, during this in-person program.
Angela Cervantes is the author of popular novels Lead with Your Heart (an American Girls book); Me, Frida, and the Secret of the Peacock Ring; Gaby, Lost and Found; Allie, First at Last, and Lety Out Loud, which won a 2020 Pura Belpré Honor Award. In addition to her original novels, Angela authored the junior novelization for Disney/Pixar’s animated-film, Coco and Disney’s animated film, Encanto. Angela is a daughter of a retired elementary-school teacher who instilled in her a love for reading and storytelling. She writes from her home in Kansas City. When she is not writing, Angela enjoys reading, running, gazing up at clouds, and taking advantage of Taco Tuesdays everywhere she goes.
Parents and caregivers of children under age 9 must stay in the library during the program.
