Take a trip down memory lane and reminisce about those wonderful Chicagoland bakeries of the past. Learn the history of the oldest running local bakery as well as the history of some of the national baking companies that got their start in Chicago: Maurice Lenell, Keebler, Heinnemans, Burny Bros, Sara Lee, National Biscuit Company (Na-Bis-Co) to name a few. Local bakeries: Gladstone, Dinkel (since 1909), Lutz, Weber’s, Jarosch, Roeser’s (Bozo) and more.
Cheryl Brown has been a college professor at Oakton College for over 30 years. Along with teaching she is an experienced presenter on nostaligc topics like Kiddieland Remembered and Chicago's Sweet Bakeries rememebred.
