In this session, Karen Chan will talk about assessing your overall financial picture and gathering all the pieces of information that will help you make an informed decision. Building a better understanding of all aspects of your finances, from expenses to Social Security to IRAs and investments, will help you know when retirement is an option for you.
Karen Chan has been educating the public about financial topics for thirty years. She served as a consumer economics educator with University of Illinois Extension from 1993 until her retirement in 2012. In 2012, she formed her own small business, Karen Chan Financial Education & Consulting, LLC. She presents programs at libraries throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area and for organizations such as the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund.
