200 years ago, after a young woman was challenged to a ghost story writing contest on a stormy night in Switzerland, one of the most enduring science fiction novels ever written was brought into the world: Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.
Facilitator Katrina Kemble teaches literature and writing at Columbia College Chicago and leads adult literature seminars at the Newberry Library. She has studied Gothic literature through Oxford University's continuing education program.
