Join travel experts Matt Sparapani and Alison Newberry as they explore many popular birding locations between Charleston and Hilton Head and share tips for birding in South Carolina's Lowcountry.
The Lowcountry of South Carolina is an enchanting landscape where serene sea islands intermingle with coastal salt marshes. The ebb and flow of the tide creates an ever-changing environment that attracts many resident and migrating waders and shorebirds to the sandy beaches that stretch for miles. Other specialties include Painted bunting, Brown-headed nuthatch, Red-cockaded woodpecker and Wood stork, making this charming area a birder’s paradise. In this program, Matt and Alison will explore many popular birding locations between Charleston and Hilton Head, including Hunting Island State Park, Pinckney National Wildlife Refuge, the Cypress Wetlands Rookery, Donnelley WMA, in addition to many others. This program will not be recorded.
