Local resident Paria Mirmonsef will share photos from her recent family trip to beautiful and historic Iran.
When she was 16 years old, Paria Mirmonsef's parents made the decision to leave Iran for the US. The year was 1989, the Islamic Republic was 10 years old, Khomeini had just died, and the long and bloody war with Iraq was finally over. Over the past 30+ years, she has only gone back to visit three times: once as a newlywed in 2004, then in 2009 with a 2-year-old and another one on the way in the midst of Iran's green revolution, and then again in 2023 with her two teenagers. This is a story of her place of birth and her people.
