In the changing landscape in the United States, join the Transformative Justice Law Project for new information on name, gender marker, and identity document changes on federal and state documents.
In this session, we will discuss state law v. federal law, the process of changing names and gender markers, and different measures that can be taken to protect both adults and young people as we navigate unprecedented times for trans individuals. A monitored Q&A in a safe and welcoming environment will be provided for all of your questions.
The Transformative Justice Law Project of Illinois provides free help to guide trans and gender nonconforming people through the complicated and expensive process of making a legal name change. Learn more about TJLP and the Name Change Mobilization. Registrants will receive a link to join the presentation via Zoom.
