Open-source software encompasses a variety of programs developed with nonproprietary code that are often free to use. These programs are growing in popularity as many software applications shift toward subscription-based models. Participants will explore the world of open-source software, learning what it means for a program to be open source, and how to use a variety of open-source tools available for home and office use. This program is intended for adult patrons. Participants should have basic computer and typing skills, including experience using web-based platforms and a mouse.
