Join us on the second Tuesday of the month.
We will be discussing The Revisioners by Margaret Wilkerson Sexton. Former slave Josephine is the proud owner of a farm in 1924. She begins a tentative friendship with a white woman named Charlotte, one that jeopardizes Josephine's family. Ava, a single mother, is Josephine's modern-day descendent. When she loses her job, she moves in with her white grandmother whose behavior becomes erratic and threatening. Although separated by almost a century, Josephine and Ava's stories begin to converge, exploring the power of relationships, the dangers that can destroy them, and generational legacies.
Copies of the book are available at the library. Ebook and eaudiobook copies are always available through Hoopla. Additionally, the ebook is available on Digital Library of Illinois and through the Libby app.
