Join us for a virtual discussion with YA author Darcie Little Badger, author of Elatsoe and A Snake Falls to Earth.
Darcie Little Badger is a Lipan Apache writer with a PhD in oceanography. Her critically acclaimed debut novel, Elatsoe, was featured in Time Magazine as one of the best 100 fantasy novels of all time and is a Nebula, Ignyte, Locus and Lodestar finalist. In a starred review, Kirkus magazine called it "[a] fast-paced whodunit set in a contemporary world like our own, this is a creative fusion of Indigenous cultural influences and supernatural fantasy. A brilliant, engaging debut...." Her second fantasy novel, A Snake Falls to Earth, is coming November 23, 2021 (postponed from its original October date) and was just placed on the longlist for the 2021 National Book Award for Young People's Literature. Darcie’s short fiction, nonfiction and comics have appeared in multiple places, including Marvel’s Voices: Indigenous Voices #1, Nightmare Magazine, Strange Horizons, and The Dark.
