Join internationally-published, award-winning Ojibwa author and speaker, Kim Sigafus for a program focusing on the Native people who once called Illinois their home.
The presentation will include oral traditions, daily life, and the planting of the Three Sisters: corn, beans, and squash. Discussing the importance of music in the culture, Kim will drum and sing as she shares a traditional lullaby. Participants will get the chance to learn some Native language and Kim will answer questions following the program.
