Celebrate Women's History Month with an update on the status of the Equal Rights Amendment.
Join us as local attorney and legal scholar Michele Thorne discusses the history and future of the Equal Rights Amendment, the proposed amendment to the constitution that guarantees equal rights for women. The ERA has an interesting and complicated past and still faces a number of legal and political hurdles in order to become part of our constitution. Michele Thorne will break down the saga of the ERA fight and shed light on the important work being done by supporters and activists like herself to cement its legacy. Opening remarks will be made by Swathi Mothkur, Human Relations Commissioner with the Village of Wilmette.
