Get curious about why race matters in our society. This workshop is designed to give families the language and building blocks to talk about race and racism, fairness, equity, and justice.
Meals are one of the most unifying practices around the world! How can family traditions around food help us build a more inclusive community? Bring your favorite family recipes to this interactive workshop and learn with us about making cross-cultural connections while we build racial literacy skills.
Children begin to develop individual and group identity early on but don’t have explicit language to talk about race. We'll use books and experiential activities to model and process skills in a meaningful and loving way.
This family workshop will be co-presented with Crystal Elliott-O’Connor, MAT ECE, MDiv FCC. With 30+ years in early childhood education and family support, Crystal has developed a unique set of skills and passions from which she works today as a consultant. She partners with individuals, agencies, and organizations to increase racial awareness and create a critical mass of like-minded folks working toward liberty in our society.
