Northwestern University professor Gary Saul Morson discusses what Russia was like in the 20th century, presenting A Gentleman in Moscow in the context of the Russian Revolution.
Gary Saul Morson, Lawrence B. Dumas Professor of the Arts and Humanities and Professor of Slavic Languages at Northwestern University, is the author or editor of 19 books and about a hundred and fifty articles in scholarly and national publications. A member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, he has for many years taught Northwestern's most popular undergraduate class, which is devoted to in-depth examination of Dostoevsky's Brothers Karamazov and Tolstoy’s Anna Karenina.
This event is part of the Library's 2018 One Book, Everybody Reads series, which is featuring A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles this spring.
