AuditoriumThe AARP Smart Driver course, offered by AARP Driver Safety, is the nation’s largest driver safety course and is designed especially for drivers age 50 and older.
The AARP Smart Driver course teaches valuable defensive driving strategies and provides a refresher of the rules of the road. Since 1979, the course has helped more than 20 million drivers learn research-based tips to adapt their driving to compensate for physical and cognitive changes that may occur with aging. The course has also been recently updated with new content, so you will have the most up-to-date information for your state. Plus, you may qualify for a multi-year automobile insurance discount by completing the course (check with your auto insurance agent for details).
This two-day course takes place on Thursday, September 24 and on Friday, September 25 from 9:30-1:30 in the Auditorium; when you register for Thursday, September 24, you will automatically be registered for Friday, September 25. Space is limited, and registration is required through the library's website. A Wilmette library card is required to register.

From I-94 (Edens Expressway):from the South - exit at Lake Ave. East. Go east on Lake Ave. a little over 2 miles. Turn right on Park Ave. • from the North - exit at Rt. 41/Skokie Blvd. Turn left (east) on Lake Ave. Go east on Lake Ave. a little over 2 miles. Turn right on Park Ave.
