AuditoriumMake a traditional Nicho box with The National Museum of Mexican Art.
Nicho boxes are an artesanía commonly seen in Mexico and the Southwest of the United States. They are little boxes dedicated to heroes, saints, and loved ones. Sometimes in Mexico, particularly during Day of the Dead, artisans use the platform to create vignettes of the afterlife. Using little skeletons that depict moments in everyday life, celebrations, and celebrities, artesanos can give us a glimpse into the afterlife.
